Last night a few colleagues and myself spent our evening at the McGuire Woods law building here in Richmond volunteering for the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and their Annual Legislative Reception. The Legislative Reception is an opportunity for law makers and business owners to collaborate in a comfortable setting, making powerful bonds that benefit the entire business landscape in Virginia.
As an aspiring entrepreneur who thrives off of the energy of others, this has been an event circled far in advance on the calendar of mine and my peers. Only in this type of forum will you find yourself discussing State Policies and Fitbit steps all at once with a Senator of the State. Beyond the exciting names at the big event, you will find yourself meeting genuine, hard working small business owners from all over Virginia, all of whom have a story and a mission.
Most importantly the VAHCC stands for many important causes that are essential to the Virginia ecosystem. VAHCC looks to create a diverse, representative legislative governing body that enables all Virginians. While the Chamber may have a Hispanic background at it's core, these leaders focus on entrepreneurship, opportunity and advanced technology for all.
