What a night! This past Wednesday TEDxRVA hosted an Open Mic night where twenty contestants shared new ideas to the Richmond community. Despite the threat of a tornado looming above us, the Richmond Library was a packed house! That is one hell of a testament to the Richmond curiousness.
I was so fortunate to have been one of the lucky few placed into the line up for the night as the ideas shared were just amazing! I learned about postnatal care, heroin addiction and the three principles to public speaking. There were plenty more fascinating ideas of which I do hope have surfaced online.
The idea I spoke about is something I call The Opposite Effect. It is based on shocking your industry through differentiated thinking. Check out the full video below!
"By identifying the one thing every player in your industry does the exact same and then doing the exact opposite, you can challenge the status quo, thrill your users and shock your competition"
It was such a thrill getting up on the stage and sharing my idea. If you want to know more about my idea, please reach out! As a marketer, unique forms of communication are at my core so this is something I am truly passionate about.
Moving forward I am looking forward to the next event. There is a great line up for the big show on April 8th at the Carpenter Theatre at the Dominion Arts Centre. I hope to see all of my readers there!
